Hello, World!

Well, this has certainly been a long road.  Actually, it’s been about 102 long roads.  But now here I am, in the Fall, in the color and rain, and my music reborn onto CD!  When you sit for ten years, writing songs alone on your acoustic guitar in your bedroom, the experience of collaborating with other musicians is indescribable.  It is, in fact, a rebirth of the songs, as each note uttered from another instrument carries with it an essential part of new musical life–until finally, you step back and realize that a transformation has taken place.  It’s kind of like painting a room, or even one wall.  Same room, and yet totally different.  Step in, and you feel totally different.  In a good way.  In a renewing way.  For me, the transformation was not only musical; it was personal.  And as with any transformation, it was both beautiful and extremely challenging at times.  And I have to say, I was blessed to be able both to share the beauty, and to receive support during the challenges, from some of the greatest musicians and people I know.  None of this could have been possible without my pesky desire to create.  But also, none of this could have been possible without Chris, Rob, Thad, and Ryan.  Every year that passes, the more I realize just how important it is who you choose to surround yourself with, and how important it is to be grateful when sometimes you just happen to find yourself surrounded by the good ones.  In any case, creating “It’s Alright” has been one of the greatest learning experiences I have ever had–and it was only three tracks!!!  I can’t wait to record the full-length album, “Saints Be Brave,” but for now I am super excited to be able to share a few of my songs with more people than just the ones who sit in my living room :)   I hope some people find something they’re looking for here, whatever that may be.  Hello, world, and thanks for listening!

Peace and bravery,

Faryn
